Dr. Sayeh Zielke

MD., IMBA., FRCPC., ICD.D., Cardiologist, Medical Director
Dr. Sayeh Zielke is a published author, entrepreneur, medical director, and cardiologist based in Lethbridge, Alberta. She is the Physician Lead for Cardiac Sciences with Alberta Health Services (AHS) South Zone and the Chair of the Southern Alberta Cardiac Sciences Advisory Cabinet. She currently serves as the Chair of the Assisted Living Alberta Transition Committee. She was the first permanent cardiologist in Southern Alberta and is the Medical Director of Chinook Cardiology, a clinical and cardiac diagnostic facility which she founded in 2013, and she also serves as the Medical Director of the Heart Function Clinic at the Chinook Regional Hospital and of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, both part of the Alberta Healthy Living Program of AHS. She is a published author, her work includes the book, One Heart, Five Habits.
She completed her Master of International Business Administration in 2001 at the University of Ottawa. She went on to receive her medical doctorate, also from the University of Ottawa and was class valedictorian. Dr. Zielke completed her internal medicine and cardiology residencies at the University of Calgary. She further completed training in both cardiac CT and echocardiography at the Royal Brompton Hospital and John Radcliffe Hospital - University of Oxford Hospitals in the U.K.
Dr. Zielke served as the medical student representative and again the resident physician representative on the Canadian Medical Association Board of Directors. She was the president of the Canadian Federation of Medical Students in 2003-2004 and co-chief resident of the Internal Medicine Program at University of Calgary.
She is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors having received her ICD.D. designation in 2022. Dr. Zielke sits on the University of Lethbridge Board of Governors and currently holds faculty appointments as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Calgary, Department of Cardiac Sciences, Cummings School of Medicine, and at the University of Lethbridge, Department of Neuroscience as Adjunct Associate Professor.
Dr. Zielke recently served as vice- chair and board member of Alberta Health Services Board from 2020- 2022, during which she further served as chair of the Quality and Safety Committee and vice-chair of the Human Resources Committee.
She is actively pursuing her interests in entrepreneurship, medicine, and business. She enjoys working with start-ups in both advisory and investor roles. She is recognized as an active member in her community having received the Community Builder Award in Lethbridge, Queen Elizabeth the IIs Platinum Jubilee Medal, was awarded a Key to the City of Lethbridge and received the 2025 YWCA Women of Distinction Award for Shattered Ceilings.
